MASSIMO MACRI’ began his musical studies at the Conservatory of S.Cecilia with the masters Selmi and Baldovino. Followed by courses with André Navarra and finally with Siegfried Palm in Italy and Germany. Awarded in various competitions he obtained the "Cimento D’oro" for classical music. As first cello he played in the Arena di Verona, Milan RAI and Rome RAI orchestra. He has collaborated as first cello with the National Orchestra of S. Cecilia, Symphonic Orchestra of Barcelona, Tenerife, with the Bayerisches Rundfunk Orchester of Munich and with the Filarmonica della Scala. is the first cello soloist of the Rai National Symphony Orchestra. He has played and collaborated under the direction of the most important conductors of our time as Bernstein, Bichkov, Conlon, Chailly, Giulini, Maazel, Metha, Pretre, Sawallisch, Sinopoli, also in the great solos of the symphonic lyric repertoire. He has recorded for Rai the concerts of Boccherini, Bloch, Danzi, Fedele, Ghedini, Gulda, Haydn, Mannino, Strauss. He holds Master Classes in Italy, Brazil, Argentina, Spain and Japan. “I know and love the fantastic cellist Massimo Macrì, who has extraordinary qualities: a profound musicality and an excellent technique.
